Brave little boy

Two weeks ago I took Vincent to get some blood work done to be tested to see if he has the same thing that Whitney had. Even though he is developing a lot better than she did we noticed some similarities and just to make sure. Yesterday Travis and I took Vincent to see a specialist that had worked with Whitney and he gave us the test results. Our sweet little Vince does have what Whitney had. Neonatal adrenoleukodystrophy (NALD). Unfortunately there isn't a cure for this. He is taking a multi vitamin and had more blood work done yesterday to see how his iron level is and to see if he has thyroid problems. I can still nurse him but we will have to supplement with a special formula that doesn't have long chains of fat because he can't break them down. I will have to take him to the specialist about every three months so they can keep checking on his thyroids and see if there is anything else he needs. I'm so grateful to have such wonderful Doctors and nurses that take such good care of us. It's nice working with the same group of people that worked with Whitney. I feel so blessed to have such beautiful children and to know that we are a family forever.
They gave this cute little car to Vincent the first time he went and got his blood taken. The second time he went in they gave him this stuffed animal.

Hey Travis and Amy, you two are such special people to have Heavenly Father give you these two precious children. I only spent one evening with Whitney, and there was no denying the sweet spirit she brought with her. You are in my thoughts and prayers!

We love you. Please let us know what we can do for you. Anytime! What brand of formula? I keep getting checks in the mail that are good on any kind and I remember how expensive it was for Whitney. You are in all of our prayers. Even Sam's!

There's not much I can tell you that will do you justice. You are both obviously exceptionally special people. I don't know how many people can handle what you have both been asked to handle, but Heavenly Father knows you two can handle it somehow. What special children you have. They, and both of you, must have done something right before earth life. Let us know how we can help. He is so cute Amy. I can't wait to meet him.

Lots of love,

Sarah
