For those of you who don't know my mom passed away 12 years ago this coming May with brain cancer. Today is her birthday and I just wanted to share somethings about her with you. Being the youngest I was a mamma's girl. I always wanted to be with her and do everything she was doing. In elementary school I would get so homesick that I just wanted to be home with her. I always loved it when my mom was able to come into my class to help out or go on field trips with my class. Everyone always knew my mom to be so happy and smiley. She was a very optimistic person and always saw the good in people. She was everyone's friend. The little kids at church called her the candy lady because she always had candy in her (huge) purse. My mom had such a strong testimony of the Gospel and taught me how to love and care for others through her example. I'm so grateful for the 12 years in my life that she was able to take care of me and to love me.
This picture is something my Aunt gave me. She put together some pictures of me and my mom.

My mom was just remembering the other day that its almost been 12 years. I cant believe it we must be getting older than I thought.
I love those pictures of you and your mom I cant believe how much you are looking like her. She is so Beautiful! I'll always remember her whistle ;)
What a good post!
Wow! I can't believe how much you look like your mom. That was so sweet of your aunt to put those pictures together. I bet your mom really appreciates how you keep her spirit alive.
Your mom is beautiful!
You look like your mom and it sounds like you are a lot alike her in personality too...optimistic, everyones friend, kind. One question, do you always have candy in your purse? (Just so I know for future use!!)
I didn't know about your mom, Amy. I am really sorry, and I am sure it has been difficult for you. She is so beautiful, and you look so much like her! She sounds like the most amazing lady- and she obviously was a wonderful mom judging by her daughter. You are definitely carrying on her legacy and I am sure making her so proud! PS- I saw Vincent for the first time at church yesterday. He is such a cutie- I am so embarrassed because I still have a gift for him. It has been too long! We need to get together!
I don't know if you remember this or not but back when we lived in Riverside, you bore you testimony one Sunday and I believe our lesson was on record (or journal) keeping. You said that your Mom kept a journal and that's how you got to know a lot about your Mom. That has stuck with me for over 8 years. I have kept a journal (even before I had Ahlyssa) for that same reason-an unforunate unforseen event. I want Ahlyssa or even her kids to know me and know that I had a testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. So anyway because of you and your testimony about you Mom, I have kept a journal! I love this post, you look like your Mom-goregous!
Thank you!
Amy that is nice, thank you for sharing.
